, a CyberOptics company and premier provider of ultra-precise 3D scanning systems and 3D measurement services, recently announced it will showcase its new, compact DeskTom® CT Scanner at the Design & Manufacturing Minneapolis show Nov. 4-5, 2015, booth #509.

The DeskTom CT Scanner is a high-precision, x-ray inspection machine with computed tomography (CT) which allows users to capture all geometry, both external and internal of the most complex and free-form parts. The highly-accurate 3D scanner enables a complete, non-destructive First Article Inspection level evaluation, including dimensional measurements as well as analyses for porosity, directional flow and assembly – all in a single scan. This metrology grade 3D CT scanner is a must-have for the medical community.

MInnMEDTECHWeek_LSA_MDM2_4c_0Laser Design will also highlight its Surveyor® ZS-Series, a high-precision, automated 3D Laser Scanning measurement system that can 3D scan industrial parts automatically into a common coordinate system for comparison to CAD and full First Article Inspections.  Laser Design’s new highly accurate and quick XLP scanner provides a system accuracy to +/- 5µ  with easy scans of simple or complex free-form shaped objects including shiny parts.

“For 30-years Laser Design has helped customers successfully complete their most complex inspection, analysis, and reverse engineering projects drawing on our experience in metrology, 3D technology and scanning,” said C. Martin Schuster, President and CEO of Laser Design. “Our solutions provide our customers with a competitive advantage to substantially improve their own profitability and bring their products to market much faster  using the most accurate 3D technology available today.”

In addition to a series of products, the company also offers 3D Services which include 3D laser scanning services for reverse engineering, quality inspection and to capture internal and external geometry.
